Since
starting her business in 1991, Valerie Chereskin has focused
on developing and implementing marketing communications plans
and media relations for a variety of emerging high tech companies.
She has been successful in obtaining favorable publicity for
her clients in print and broadcast media due to her credibility
with editors and reporters. Her work has resulted in coverage
in such respected media outlets as the Wall Street Journal,
Inc. Magazine, BusinessWeek, and ABC World News Tonight. By
understanding how reporters and editors work, she has been
able to gain their trust.
Chereskin
began her high tech career at Motorola Semiconductor, and
she went on to become the first woman in sales for Motorola's
Engine Electronics Group. Later, at Motorola's Codex division,
she sold data communications and network control systems.
As an account manager at Computer Intelligence, she developed
and promoted a new market research product that became the
highest revenue producer in the product line. While at Qualcomm,
she researched new marketing opportunities at the company's
crucial start-up phase and produced product brochures, documentation,
and press materials.
Originally
from the Chicago area, Chereskin holds a Bachelor of Music
from Eastern Illinois University, an M.B.A. with marketing
emphasis from San Diego State University, and has received
her accreditation in public relations (APR).
Michele Moninger Baker
Public Relations
Michele
Moninger Baker provides public relations counsel for emerging
technology companies who want to increase awareness and establish
leadership positions in their marketplace. For the last 12
years, she has successfully positioned technology companies
by creating communication platforms designed to deliver clients'
strategic messages and by implementing the most effective
programs and strategies.
Most recently,
she was vice president for The Ardell Group, a high-tech public
relations firm, where she oversaw the company's operations,
managed account executives, and provided strategic management
and media relations direction. Clients included Fortune 500s
like 3Com, Cisco, National Semiconductor and Kodak and start
ups like InterVU, E-Color and Internet Products. Previously,
she worked for several high-tech public relations firms and
Rogers & Cowen in New York, an international entertainment
firm, where she represented The Rolling Stones, B-52s, major
movies, and Paul Newman Food Products.
Michele
founded San Diego-based Technology for the Arts (TFA), an
organization providing computers and training to non-profit
arts organizations. She is also a member of Business Volunteers
for the Arts (BVA) with the San Diego Performing Arts League,
was the marketing lead for San Diego Technology's Perfect
Climate campaign and video, and sat on several technology
association boards including the San Diego Software Industry
Council (SDSIC) and the High-Tech Marketing Association (HTMA).
She is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America
(PRSA) and San Diego Venture Group. Michele earned her bachelor's
degree in technical journalism with an emphasis on public
relations and marketing from Colorado State University.
Fontaine Jacobs

Fontaine
comes from an award winning agency background. Along with
her eight years of experience as an Art Director, she has
held the titles of Designer, Vice President, Associate Creative
Director and everything in between.
In addition to web sites and interactive media, Fontaine's
wide ranging experience includes direct mail, advertising,
logo design and product packaging. She has managed technology
and consumer campaigns from concept to production for clients
such as Cisco Systems, Baxter Edward Orthopaedics and The
Tech Museum.
Fontaine
understand the impact of corporate and product branding in
the marketplace. She has developed logo designs that work
strategically from print to web and has created design guidelines
for companies such as Siemens, Remedy and SCO. Fontaine measures
her success in terms of client satisfaction.
Jean Sebold
Sebold Design
Jean
Sebold specializes in helping companies communicate with
their customers through innovative corporate image development
and marketing efforts. She works to produce the materials
that best express the client’s message in a clear
and elegant way, with special sensitivity to existing design
standards and image continuity. All work is performed on
state-of-the-art computer equipment, providing clients with
the benefit of the most up-to-date technical advantages.
Jean
Sebold’s strength is in creative information organization:
combining visuals with words for maximum communications
impact. Excellent proofreading and editing skills, imaginative
design expertise, and prompt, personal attention are only
a few of the extra benefits clients receive when working
with Jean. She follows projects through from concept to
completion and has produced a variety of materials, including
direct mail pieces, logos, corporate brochures, newsletters,
and advertisements.
With
a BA in Art and post-baccalaureate studies in graphic design,
Jean has been engaged as an artist and freelance graphic
designer servicing area clients for over 20 years. Her clients
have included high-tech companies, non-profit organizations,
and professional service firms.
